With reports of an explosion and screaming, Tessa and Logan race to an abandoned house only to find Bruce's visiting mom, Patsy, through the collapsed floor in the basement, and of course a decomposing DB(dead body). As they search for the creator of the trip wires, Carl H., and the abused now deceased Gavin's murderer, the Knitting Club of WI help Tessa with her Mom as her work hours are lengthened during the first 48 hrs. By reading the other foster kids’ body cues, and the images from cra-cra Carl's phone, the young, educated, future sociopath, Ian, was caught, hopefully with no chance of parole. Both Carl and Ian was sent to the main land. While Tessa' s mom deteriorated mentally throughout this novella, the new meds seem to provide her with some calm, with a HEA for Tessa and Logan.Great, gravity-defying plot with fleshed out characters, this novella showed us the foster care system flaws and the accreditation of potential parents to alleviate the system strain by the religious biases of those agencies to allow same sex parents to adopt kids in this over burdened system. This as well as the Meth and mental health issues that plague our US society are more reasons depicting the fall of our society. So glad Logan proposed and is moving into Texas's home, as two adults to watch Mom and Patience is a win-win! I was left wondering if Ian staged his elderly parent's death??
